Logomotion

LOGO MOTION is FIRST's® game for this season 2011. The game is played in alliances of three teams, playing on a 27'x54' foot field. It is a competition of hanging plastic FIRST Robotics' logo shapes, during the game period of 2 minutes and 15 seconds each match. The alliance points are based on the height which the team places the logo shapes on their scoring grid.

In the beginning of the game both teams are given a 15 seconds Autonomous period, which robots operate, independently with no drivers using their cameras to detect the target, and score for extra points. For the rest of the match drivers take control of their team's robot and try to score as much as possible to increase their alliance's score. If a logo piece is hung on the same peg as the Ubertube places in the 15 seconds Autonomous period receives double the points. If a team assembles the team logo (Triangle, Circle, Box) in a horizontal row, their alliance receives double the points for the entire row.

Near the end of the match robots deploy minibots which race the other teams onto a vertical pole. The minibots triggers a sensor at the end of the pole to earn extra points.
